The host will automatically associate itself with any administrative Windows account that has a password. 2) SSH into Linux machine through putty.Change to root user using command sudo -s.Provide write permission to all users on /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/. You configure a directory to have write-only permissions for a File Transfer Protocol (FTP) 7.5 site.

Select the Share this folder option and click OK.On the Sharing tab, click Advanced Sharing. In it, you can use the checkboxes to set the desired permissions or alternatively use the UNIX Permissions. Right-click the file or folder and select Properties. In the new window that appears click on Permissions.Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the file or folder that you want to make accessible.Step 1 - Log in using SFTP (or FTP) Step 2 - Select all files and folders. If the permissions are too loose, everyone can do everything which is unsafe. If there is no Windows or Mac password associated with the username, you can edit files and folders so that they are accessible to multiple users (that is, they are not private). If the permissions are too strict, things on your site will stop working. Thank you for putting up with this intermittent and apparently bizarre problem. When you connect to the host computer, instead of entering an access code, click More and enter the correct Windows or Mac username and password of the host computer. I'm still getting by, but occasionally get the urge to beat this dead horse some more. If the permissions are too strict, things on your site will stop working. Ive also tried using SITE CHMOD 777 command but it doesnt help. Same problem occures when the folders containing files. It really does feel like I need to give permission to list the directories and change folders but I have never consciously done this before - the FTP server.

I can't see how this could possibly cause a problem, but might "instant" logins be associated with my SSD somehow? Like some sort of caching happening? (I don't believe in this association but I throw it out for you to trample.) Im testing my Android FTP Client app and for that im using my computer as an ftp server using pythons pyftpdlib library. It seems, that this kind of error is often due to a missing or dismissive writeenable.
But putThings worked fine on my old laptop but started failing with my new laptop which my son set up with an SSD. I have set up and started primitive ftpd on my android tablet (via F-Droid) and successfully logged in from my computer (bash on Linux Mint). Something else has occurred to me (though this my be a red herring). When login is fast/instant file copying fails! If the login is sluggish, it almost always works! This seems really bizarre to me but it is very consistent! "Slow" is often accompanied with initial connection failure, timeout, then connection success. When I login to the server with WinSCP the login sometimes is very *fast* (almost instantaneous). put the jar there, and refresh the project, ADT should auto include the jar for you. Rather than config the external lib in build path, create a folder called 'libs' under the project root. However I've observed the following that seems to be consistent. also, the problem is not to upload a file, but rather that the FTPClient class is not included in your project.
